Always choose this place for my stay. First time staff helped me find way. Suits me perfectly, has Wi-Fi, electric kettle, and more. No regrets. Coming back for new year.

Tournaments of sumo are a must-see in Japan and luckily, Samurai Home Shijo Omiya was conveniently located near the venue. We had the incredible opportunity to witness the raw power and grace of sumo wrestlers as they competed in this ancient sport. The atmosphere was electric, and it was an experience that our family will never forget. The comfortable wide beds in the hotel provided us with a good night's sleep, ensuring we were well-rested for this exciting event.
My wife says that it would have been great if the hotel had a small play area or games room for children.

cozy, comfy, and wonderful stay in Kyoto. Nicest and kindest owners, clean dorm, amazing location close to attractions. Great value for money.
Steep stairs to rooms.

The mattress was comfortable and the facilities were clean. the bathrooms and showers were great, well-maintained and spacious. the location of the hotel was also a plus, with easy access to train or bus transportation.
The size and space of the rooms were a major downside. the beds were triple bunks with limited headspace and the rooms also doubled as kitchenettes.

This place felt like home, not a guest house! Clean, beautiful space with awesome chill area. Friendly staff made us feel like friends, not customers. 3 nearby 7/11s. Will recommend!

The beds were clean and comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. the location was convenient, with easy access to nearby stations and bus stops, making it hassle-free to explore the city. there were plenty of food and grocery options in the vicinity, making it convenient to find a quick bite to eat.
The facilities were limited, lacking amenities like a kitchen. This made it more of a place to rest and sleep rather than a hostel to hang out and have fun.

Samurai Home Shijo Omiya is a conveniently located hostel, close to the train station and surrounded by 7/11, a drug store, supermarket, and McDonalds. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable, with spacious beds and curtains for privacy. The shower rooms have curtains too. While there is no cooking allowed in the kitchen, there is a microwave, kettle, and toaster available. The hostel feels safe with 24/7 access and tiny lockers for belongings. I recommend this place for its affordability and convenience.

The value for money was great, with a really affordable price for a comfortable bed. The location was decent, though you may need to take the subway to get to major attractions. The staff at the hotel were friendly and spoke good English, making my stay even better.
The breakfast selection could be improved with a wider variety of options.
